Kindred

This week I read Kindred, which is a book group book. This book is about a black women named Dana, who keeps getting transported back to the past, where racism is a major issue. Every time she goes back she has to save her great-great-grandfather. In the current time she lives in, when she goes back time stops, but when she leaves the past, time speeds up. This book is a really well written and interesting book. It is confusing if you try to figure everything out in the beginning, and not everything gets answered. This book is science-historical-fiction. It talks a lot about slavery and what black people had to deal with in the past from a very interesting perspective. However, saying this, it is not all about history,it also puts in time travel and Overall I would definitely recommend this book, but it is pretty intense.
