Thanksgiving Slice of LIfe

Thanksgiving. We normally do the whole traditional meal and going around the table telling what are we thankful for with at least 25 people of all ages. Not this year, in fact almost exact opposite. An Italian restaurant and no frozen lake out the window, but an ocean with crashing waves reflecting the sun. There was not even much talk about thanksgiving other than my mother, "Lets go around the table." The restaurant offered thanksgiving, but how can you eat something and compare it to a familiar and favored meal. It is just not the same, but it is not bad either.
