One For The Murphy's

One For the Murphy's
Haley Russell

One for the Murphy's written by Lynda Mullaly Hunt was one of the most amazing books I have ever read. It is incredibly sad and this book shows that not everyone has the happiest fairy tale ending. This book is about a twelve year old girl named Carley who is put in foster care then goes to live with a family. There are lots of twists and turns and happy and sad moments all throughout the book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested.

Olive's Ocean

Olive's Ocean

This week I read Olive's Ocean  written by Kevin Hankes. This book was extremely well written. This book is about a girl named Martha who just had her world turned upside down when a girl from her class dies. She wasn't friends with this girl but she knew that she could have been. Martha's whole family goes to visit their grandmother and Martha learns a lot about who she is and who she can be.  This book was one of my favorite books and i would definitely recommend it. It is about 220 pages and is written in the third person.

The Candymakers

The CandyMakers

This week I read The Candymakers by Wendy Mass is about four twelve-year-olds who enter into a candy making contest and get to make their candy at an actual factory. However the kids don't turn out to be who they are said to be and everything connects. This book was really good. It is written in the third person and switches points of view, but the author does this really well. This book is about 450 pages so it would be considered a two week book.

Wake

Wake
By Haley Russell

Wake by Amanda Hocking was a really good book. It is also a series book. This book doesn't have inappropriate scenes but does have some extensive language. This book is about a girl named Gemma who meets three girls who just arrived in her town by the sea. After a night of parting with them she feels different swims different and she cant remember anything that happened that night. This book was well written in the third person it switched of from Gemma to her sister, but does it really well. I wouldn't recommend this book if you don't like books that leave you at a cliff hanger and leaves you jaw dropped.
